HOW IT ALL STARTED
Before Unicorn Lodging evolved, there was just The Elkhorn Cabin.
We purchased our home in Wolverine,Michigan in 2015, after living and traveling in Central America and Asia for 10 years, our son was born in 2016 and we decided it was time to fulfill our dreams.
Buying a multi unit property made home ownership in Northern Michigan possible for us, but the house and cabin needed a lot of work before we could welcome our first guests. We tore both cabins down to the studs to give it a full renovation, and in February of 2019 we published our listing for The Elkhorn Log Cabin on Airbnb.
The Elkhorn Cabin quickly received rave reviews, had over 90% occupancy in its first year and has continued to significantly outperform the comparable market season after season.

We have expanded our services to include vacation rental home set-up, interior design, and property management, building upon the success of our established method for short-term rental homes.
